Auburn Community Orchestra Holiday Concert on Dec. 5

Auburn, Ala. - The Auburn Community Orchestra (ACO) is looking forward to providing an evening of music that will fill you with cheer as it performs its traditional holiday concert at the Auburn United Methodist Church (AUMC) on Thursday, Dec. 5 at 7 p.m.

Presented by AUMC and the Jan Dempsey Community Arts Center, this year's holiday concert will feature traditional and several sing-along tunes. From “Sleigh Ride” to “The Nutcracker Suite,” Auburn residents and visitors will be transported to a winter wonderland.

Under the new direction of Music Director and Conductor Dr. Russell Logan, the ACO's talented musicians are ready to take you through your favorite holiday classics and more!

Dr. Logan is a Wetumpka native who has directed various high school bands for 24 years. He currently performs with the Montgomery Symphony Orchestra and serves as the principal trombonist and the executive board chair for the Alabama Winds Concert Band and the assistant executive director for the Alabama Music Educators Association. In addition, he is an active guest conductor, band adjudicator and clinician.  He previously served as president of the Alabama Bandmasters Association.

Under new leadership, the ACO will continue to provide Auburn residents and visitors with expertly rehearsed and enthusiastically prepared concerts.

The ACO’s mission is to continue building on tradition by presenting excellent performances for the Auburn, Opelika and East Alabama area to immerse Alabama communities in orchestral concerts. With this event, Auburn residents and visitors will enjoy a lovely fall evening on the Plains surrounded by friends and neighbors while listening to beautiful orchestral pieces.
